Sugar export deals are being made at up to ₹44,000 per tonne. Most of the exports are taking place from sugar mills in Maharashtra. Sugar is being sold to about a dozen countries, including African nations, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka. So far, 2 lakh tonnes of sugar have been exported, and export deals for an additional 3 lakh tonnes have been finalized.
